Child like faith…. Isn’t it something we should all aspire to? The Bible clearly states this in the book of Proverbs 22:6

” Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it”

This is our mission and our passion here at Maydor makes. When we started making bible resources for children it began with Bible story spoons and  then progressed to peg dolls and so so much more since. I remember thinking ‘ but how can this help children find Jesus as their personal Lord and saviour, a personal faith experience ’ and this scripture came to mind from God I believe.

I don’t think as parents/ children’s church workers we fully realise the importance and significance of the seeds we sow into children’s lives. Everything we do should be helping point them to Jesus so they can find him and decide for themselves to accept him as their Lord.

The seeds we sow when they are small may feel insignificant but they are crucial and vital and hugely powerful in the hands of God, children I believe are fully on the heart of God. There  is a reason that Jesus takes child like faith and innocence so seriously ,so we should not let our children get corrupted by the things of this world as child like faith is what we should all have to fully experience Jesus.

Now child like faith is a raw and  pure faith that children have where they see things and accept things by faith without the questioning and often intellect that comes with adult life trying to decipher and reason it all out because as we all know faith can’t be taught or reasoned in your head , it’s something we connect to and find with our spirit that defies logic and reasoning, as God is far above our finite earthly minds.

God takes the influence on our children very seriously so we are to guard their hearts and minds from ungodly things. The world has an ungodly agenda for our children to try and pull them away from the things of God and their voices are loud vying for the attention of our children but we need to be the louder voice teaching our children who Jesus says they are. We need to teach them the Bible when they are young in a relatable and creative way.

We cannot in today’s society be passive we must show them Jesus and how amazing he is and pray and believe that when they are older they will fully encounter him in a life changing way and accept him for themselves as their Lord and saviour.

I totally believe that children are fully able to experience Jesus and his power from a young age. Children learn so much through play- it’s so valuable so combining the two is a great way to bring the bible to life for them. Children are the upcoming new generation for Jesus and they need equipping to stand in this world that is far from easy , but we know that God destined their lives for such a time as this so we pray our products start the foundation of a life time journey of faith and encountering our awesome Lord and saviour `Jesus Christ.
